Alliants, the customer experience technology specialists, recently partnered with American Student Assistance® (ASA), a national nonprofit changing the way kids learn about careers and navigate a path to postsecondary education and career success, to provide their expertise as part of the development of ASA Futurescape®, a free, immersive digital platform that helps more than seven million students explore real-world careers beyond the classroom.
Launched in 2020, Futurescape is a personalised digital platform powered by real-time insights, and the only future career exploration tool that exposes young people’s evolving strengths, passions, interests, and goals. The platform shows students the array of choices they have, allowing them to see the big picture before they focus on specific industries or careers.
“In feedback, many of the kids told ASA that the platform has helped them learn about jobs or opportunities that they previously didn’t know existed,” said Ashley Russell, technical lead at Alliants.” And that really was the main goal of the project. Alliants is very proud to be helping millions of kids find their future and feel more confident.”
According to a recent ASA survey of more than 2,000 students, 74% of Futurescape users said they learned more about their personal strengths and/or what jobs and careers might be the best match for them. Nearly eight out of ten (78%) said it gave them exposure and insights into a job they didn’t know existed.
“Research shows that more than 65 percent of high school students and recent high school graduates feel they would have benefited from more career exploration in middle or high school,” said Clay Colarusso, CMO and SVP of Digital Strategy at ASA. “With Futurescape, we are meeting kids, starting in middle school, where they are – on their devices – to help them make informed, confident choices about what to do upon high school graduation.”
